How It Works
Your dog has a birth chart. We just need a few details to find it.
1. Tell us about your dog
Give us your dog's name, date and place of birth. If you know the time of birth, even better.
2. We calculate their chart
We use your dog's birth information to calculate the position of the planets on the day they were born.
This isn't a generic horoscope based on their star sign. We look at the different planetary placements and the relationships between them to build a picture of your dog's individual astrological makeup.
If their exact birth time isn't known, we only use the parts of the chart that can be interpreted reliably without it.
3. We create their reading
This is where astrology meets dog.
We interpret the chart in the context of canine personality: temperament, instincts, attachment, communication, motivation, sociability and those peculiar little characteristics that make your dog unmistakably yours.
Our process is tech-assisted and human-operated. Technology helps us work with the chart data and our interpretive framework, but every reading is analysed and revised by a human before it reaches you.
4. Meet your dog, according to the stars
Your finished Pawstrology reading is delivered digitally by email, beautifully presented and ready to keep, print or send to someone who loves dogs almost as much as we do.

Pawstrology began with a very simple thought:
If people have birth charts, why shouldn't dogs?
Anyone who has lived with more than one dog knows how extraordinarily different they can be. One is fearless. Another worries when you move a chair. One would follow you to the end of the earth. Another loves you deeply but would prefer you didn't sit in their spot.
They have preferences, attachments, habits, sensitivities and personalities entirely their own.
Pawstrology brings that individuality together with astrology.
We create personalised astrological readings for dogs using their birth information and an interpretive approach developed specifically for canine life. Our astrological analysis brings something thoughtful, personal and - because we're talking about fur babies - occasionally ridiculous.
We don't claim astrology is science, and we don't use it as a substitute for understanding canine behaviour, health or welfare.
We simply think that looking at the dog you love through the language of astrology can reveal a rather delightful new portrait of someone you thought you already knew.
The Astrology Behind It
Yes, there is actual astrology behind Pawstrology!
Pawstrology is meant to be fun. The astrology behind it isn't random.
A birth chart is a map of where the planets were positioned at a particular moment in time. In human astrology, astrologers have spent centuries developing systems for interpreting those positions and the relationships between them.
We use that astrological foundation and ask a slightly different question: What might these patterns look like when the individual in question is a dog?
A dog doesn't experience Mercury, Venus or Mars in exactly the way a human being does. Dogs don't have careers, existential crises or complicated relationships with their inboxes.
They do, however, communicate. They form powerful attachments. They pursue things they want. They experience excitement, frustration, security, fear, pleasure and curiosity. They have different temperaments and remarkably individual ways of relating to the world around them.
Our approach interprets astrological symbolism through that canine context.
We consider the chart as a whole rather than simply assigning personality traits according to your dog's Sun sign. Where several astrological factors reinforce the same theme, that theme carries more weight in the reading.
And where we don't have enough information, we don't pretend that we do.
What if I don't know my dog's birth time?
That's very common.
An exact birth time is necessary for some elements of a traditional birth chart, particularly the Ascendant and astrological houses. If your dog's birth time isn't known, we don't interpret those elements as though it were.
Instead, the reading is based on the astrological information that can be established with sufficient confidence from the birth information you do have.
So no, we won't invent your dog's Rising sign.
